About Me

I got married when I was 24 years old.  I knew how to bake, and baked pretty well.  I knew how to cook, but didn't enjoy it.

For the first three and a half years of my married life my husband did all the cooking.  Seriously, ALL THE COOKING!  I'd get home from work first and sit, impatiently, waiting for him to get home and figure out what was for dinner.

Then, I had a baby.  The desire to spend a few minutes by myself every day pushed me into the kitchen.  Cooking dinner, though a hassle at first, was the only break I got from a grumpy, colicky, baby.  Now a few years down the road and another kid added to the family, I really enjoy cooking, trying new recipes, and being the "chef" in the family.

I've realized over the last few years that it's pretty easy to fix yummy meals for my family - as good or better than most take out and restaurants.  It doesn't take a lot of time to eat good food - and I'm a picky eater.

This blog has been floating through my head for the last few years and at last I figured I'd try my hand.  I'm a picky eater foodie at heart, ready to throw some ideas onto the table.
